Williamson County Amateur Radio Emergency Services (WC-ARES) is dedicated to having will trained volunteers. Training, practice and fun encompass our goals and show in our service to the community. WC-ARES members are required to take the following courses:
IS-100.B: Introduction to Incident Command System
IS-200.B: ICS for Single Resources and Initial Action Incidents
IS-700.A: National Incident Management System (NIMS) An Introduction
IS-800.B: National Response Framework, An Introduction
FEMA offers a wide range of independent study. Many jurisdictions require volunteers as well as employees to take some basic incident command courses. WC-ARES members are encouraged to take the following courses:
E300: ICS 300: Intermediate ICS for Expanding Incidents
E400: ICS 400: Advanced ICS for Command and General Staff
