Williamson County Amateur Radio Emergency Services will be participating in the 2020 Winter Field Day. This is a time for Amateur Radio Operators who believe that emergency communications in a winter environment is just as important as the preparations and practice that is done each summer but with some additional unique operational concerns.

WC-ARES will be setting up its operations at the Jim Hogg Park located at Lake Georgetown.  The communication trailer and those wishing to camp over the weekend will begin arriving at the camp ground on January 24th.  WC-ARES members have reserved campsites 35-42 if you want to make a reservation near the others in the group. We are planning on having fun with the contest and at the same time testing out 60 meters and various antenna for future deployment use.  Come join the fun… whether it is DX’ing on the radio, fishing, setting around visiting or getting help with radio setup or testing an antenna we will have a great time.  If you have a project or specific need you would like assistance with or have questions regarding please make sure to let us know so we can try to have someone around to assist or answer your questions.
