Williamson County Amateur Radio Emergency Services (WC-ARES) is dedicated to having will trained volunteers.  Below are several links to various trainings that will equip you to serve with WC-ARES.

WC-ARES Training Videos

Williamson County requires that all Williamson County Amateur Radio Emergency Services (WC-ARES) members who wish to have access to the WEOC during an activation complete the CJIS Information Security Awareness Training for Texas.

Training, practice and fun encompass our goals and show in our service to the community.  WC-ARES members are required to take the following courses:

IS-100.B: Introduction to Incident Command System

IS-200.B: ICS for Single Resources and Initial Action Incidents

IS-700.A: National Incident Management System (NIMS) An Introduction

IS-800.B: National Response Framework, An Introduction

 

FEMA offers a wide range of independent study.  Many jurisdictions require volunteers as well as employees to take some basic incident command courses.   WC-ARES members are encouraged to take the following courses:

E300: ICS 300: Intermediate ICS for Expanding Incidents

E400: ICS 400: Advanced ICS for Command and General Staff

 

FEMA also offers a number of role-specific courses that may be especially useful and are available at:
